Meghan Markle reportedly “ruffled feathers” after she joined the Royal Family because she refused to go out of her way to please others.

Royal expert Omid Scobie claimed on the ITV documentary Harry and William: What Went Wrong, that the Duchess of Sussex “ruffled feathers” when she joined the Royal Family due to her drive and work ethic and that she refused to change to please people around her.

“Meghan came in driven and ready to work and that immediately ruffled feathers,” Scobie, co-author of Finding Freedom, said, according to Express. “She’s a woman well into her thirties, I think she’s proven to herself and the people she’s worked with up to that point that she knows what she’s doing.”

Meghan “hit the ground running” when she married Harry

The Duchess of Sussex “hit the ground running” when she joined the Royal Family, Monsters & Critics reported.

“She’s certainly not someone who was going to change herself just to please the people around her,” the royal biographer said, according to Express.

Meghan and Prince Harry exchanged vows in a ceremony that took place at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on Saturday, May 19, 2018.

The couple met in July 2016 on a blind date arranged by a mutual friend and got engaged in November 2017.

Meghan worked as an actress before she married Prince Harry.

She was best known for starring as Rachel Zane on USA Network’s hit legal drama series, Suits. She starred alongside Patrick Adams and D.B. Woodside, who is also known for playing Amenadiel in the Netflix TV series, Lucifer.

She left Suits at the end of Season 7 to marry Prince Harry.

Meghan and Harry quit their positions as working Royals in 2020

Scobie’s claim that Meghan “ruffled feathers” when she joined the Royal Family comes more than a year after the Duchess of Sussex and her husband, Prince Harry, announced they were stepping down as senior working members of the Royal Family.

They announced they were quitting the Royal Family in January 2020 and relocated with their son, Archie, to the U.S. in March 2020. They eventually settled down in their mansion in the Montecito neighborhood of Santa Barbara, California.

The Sussexes decided to quit as working Royals following tensions between them and other members of the Royal Family, including the Cambridges.

The rift deepened after Meghan and Harry made allegations of racism and neglect against the Royal Family during their controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey back in March 2021.

Royal aides also accused Meghan of bullying. The allegations reportedly led to a row between Harry and William.

Tensions between Meghan and Kate have eased since the birth of Lilibet Diana

Meghan reportedly reached out to Kate for “secret talks” following a backlash against Harry. Harry suffered a backlash after he made allegations of racism and neglect against senior members of the Royal Family, including the Queen and Prince Charles.

Harry accused the senior Royals of poor parenting and alleged they mistreated his wife, Meghan.

However, sources have recently claimed that tensions have eased between Meghan and Kate since Meghan gave birth to her second child, Lilibet Diana.

The sources said the royal ladies have been exchanging friendly text messages and that Kate sent Meghan a gift for Lilibet.
