The date of the Big Brother 23 season finale was just revealed during an avalanche of information that CBS released regarding its fall 2021 schedule. It confirms our suspicion that the BB23 cast is playing a much shorter season than a typical summer.

Within that information, CBS also announced when Survivor is finally returning to television, so fans of that show definitely have something to look forward to in the fall. It’s also important because it will coincide with the BB23 season finale.

According to CBS, the final episode for the BB23 cast is going to air on Wednesday, September 29. It will come on at 9/8c on CBS, following an episode from Survivor 41 that airs in the earlier time slot.

The Big Brother 23 season finale is also being advertised as a two-hour event, so CBS is giving the show a lot of time to wrap things up. It could be an exciting conclusion for the BB23 cast, especially if the first few days of the season indicate what is coming up soon.

BB23 cast getting a short season

Counting the day of the premiere (July 7) and the day of the finale (September 29), the BB23 cast is playing the game for 85 days this summer. That’s much shorter than a typical 99-day installment, but also understandable if we consider the two-week quarantine that everyone had to go through before the first episode aired.

The quarantine turned out to be a good thing because one of the cast members tested positive for COVID-19 while they were going through that phase.

Double and Triple Eviction coming for Big Brother 23?

With 16 members of the BB23 cast and only 85 days to get down to a final two, it suggests that we could be looking at Double or Triple Evictions at some point during the season. Those are typically really interesting episodes to watch, provided host Julie Chen Moonves, and the producers don’t accidentally alert the houseguests.

One of the biggest twists of the new season has been that the BB23 cast has to play in teams for a few weeks. It has already led to a lot of chaos on the live feeds, with a lot of that chaos created by the first HOH Frenchie. Will he even survive long enough to make it to the BB23 jury this summer? Or are Frenchie’s days numbered as soon as he is no longer the Head of Household?

There is a long way to go before the jury starts forming, let alone when viewers start finding out who has the best chance to make it all the way to the end. What we do know is that they are playing for an increased prize of $750,000 this summer. That huge cash prize led to Big Brother 13 winner Rachel Reilly stating that she wants to play again.

Big Brother 23 airs Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 8/7c on CBS.
