Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge were two of the most familiar stars on the Real Housewives of Orange County for years.
Through highs (Vicki experienced her share of “I’m the real OG star of the OC”) and lows (even if we wanted to, can we forget her cancer-gate ex-boyfriend Brooks Ayers), Gunvalson turned in some memorable moments on RHOC. But in the harsh light of reality TV, Vicki’s repeated demands that everyone watch her grew stale, and receiving the reduced rank of “friend of” rather than star caused Gunvalson to exit with all the drama for which she’s known.
Vicki isn’t the only familiar face on the Real Housewives of Orange County to exit the show. Tamra Judge had her own 15 minutes of fame with her departure recently. So why have Gunvalson and Judge been seen filming in the wake of their RHOC exits?
Vicki Gunvalson, Tamra Judge: Together again on reality TV?
Vicki and Tamra have said bye-bye to Bravo TV, hello to a new reality TV series on another network, an insider told People magazine. Gunvalson and Judge apparently didn’t come up with the idea on their own, but “were approached to do a show together.”
As for why the two ex-RHOC stars might turn into bigger TV draws off the Real Housewives rather than on, the source pointed out that Gunvalson and Judge have enjoyed a lengthy friendship, resulting in a “lot of history” that can provide fodder for a unique TV show.
“They’re having fun,” summed up the insider. “And there’s interest from fans in seeing them on screen again. It felt like the right move.”
But the source also made it clear that Bravo TV is not involved, nor is the Real Housewives series. After more than 10 years contributing to Andy Cohen and Bravo TV’s success, Tamra and Vicki are “both grateful for that experience, but this is something new and there’s a lot of excitement in that,” the source said.
Tamra Judge offers hints in Instagram pic with Vicki Gunvalson
Tamra didn’t take long to serve up some hints about the new series on Instagram.
“How’s your Sunday?’ Tamra questioned her fans, using the hashtag #lifeafterhousewives.
And the cameras that Judge captured in her Instagram pic as well as her Instagram Stories offered up some clues. Rather than using cameras branded with Bravo TV, the cameraman shown in the image is using what Reddit users analyzed as “Red cameras and those are generally used for film and television or commercials. It’s not likely they’d use it for Real Housewives.”
Vicki Gunvalson tells Instagram when she’ll ‘spill the tea’ on her new TV show
So how about spilling the tea on the TV show, Vicki Gunvalson? The former OG of the OC is promising to do just that, turning to Instagram to tempt fans to watch her podcast.
“This has to be a WeTV show,” speculated one fan. “It’s the Real Housewives graveyard.”
But no one seemed to know for sure, paving a path for Vicki to achieve “Whoop It Up” viewer numbers status when her podcast premieres.
