A Family Feud contestant irked Steve Harvey so much he lost his cool on stage.
The Whitley family faced the Hopkins family during a recent February episode.
To kick off one of their games, Steve asked opponents Melissa from the Whitley team and Brooke from the Hopkins team to “Name an animal starting with the letter ‘S’ that would make a terrible pet.”
Melissa won the face-off with her answer, “Snake,” which was the top answer on the survey board with 42 responses.
The Whitley family decided to play rather than pass, and Steve went down the line, asking Jenna, Layna, and Krista for answers.
Jenna answered “Spider” and earned the team their first strike, and Layna’s answer, “Squid,” earned their second.

Krista didn’t have much luck when she got her turn on the recent episode.
Her answer was, “Salamander.” Judging by his reaction, Steve must have known it wouldn’t be on the board.
Without saying a word, Steve forcefully threw his cue card on the ground before walking to the board, where it was revealed that Krista’s answer resulted in the Whitleys’ third strike.
Steve approached Krista and her teammates after the buzzer sounded, going down the line as he reminded them of the question.
“The question was, ‘Name an animal starting with an ‘S’ that would make a terrible pet,” he began.
“Not ‘Name an animal starting with an ‘S’ ain’t nobody ever heard of,'” he preached.
The Whitleys’ opponents, the Hopkins family, stole the game
The Hopkins family had the opportunity to redeem themselves and steal the win.
Marshall, the team captain, delivered their collective answer, “Skunk,” which turned out to be the No. 2 answer on the board with 19 points.
The Hopkins family won the round after the Whitleys came up short.
The segment was shared in a YouTube video, “Steve Harvey throws his card at Krista’s answer!! Name an animal starting with the letter ‘S’ that would make a terrible pet.”
Family Feud viewers spoke up in the comments section, some chastising the Whitleys for their answers.

“Why play when you don’t have at least one answer you know?” pondered @Slammarang.
Another YouTube user called all of the answers “horrible.”

A third commenter offered a different take, writing, “There was nothing wrong with those answers. Sometimes Steve just hates on contestants for the sake of comedy…even when there’s nothing funny about it.”

The Hopkins family dishes on Steve Harvey: ‘Very friendly and funny’
In addition to winning the round, the Hopkins family enjoyed their Family Feud experience.
Speaking with Ken de la Bastide of The Herald Bulletin, the family shared some memorable moments while filming their episode in Atlanta, Georgia.
Wendi told the publication that it was an experience she and her family will “always remember.”
Paige added, “I was nervous about my answers, but after the first show, I wasn’t as nervous.”
“Steve Harvey was very friendly and funny,” added Che. “I never thought he was that funny until being around him.”
The Hopkins’ team captain Marshall noted, “We were all a bit nervous at first. It was a new experience for all of us.”
“We made Anderson, [Indiana] proud,” he concluded.
