The Bachelor is coming to an end and Bachelor Nation knows what that means — The Bachelorette is coming soon.

Viewers have been wondering who the Bachelorette lead is, and Reality Steve claimed to have that answer.

While he recently revealed that Katie Thurston would be the next Bachelorette lead, he said that would come with a twist.

“I reported early last week that Katie was going to be announced as the next “Bachelorette” in the coming days, and it happened at the taping this past Friday. HOWEVER, there is some sort of twist to it. Bad news though. I don’t know what it is,” Reality Steve wrote on his site.

In a recent update, he revealed that he now knows what the twist is — and it’s something that has never happened before in Bachelor history.

What is the mystery Bachelorette twist?

Reality Steve announced that there will be not one, but two, seasons of The Bachelorette in 2021.

This is the first time that two seasons of The Bachelorette will air in the same year.

Reality Steve explained that Katie will still be the first Bachelorette as planned. Her season will film in March in New Mexico and air in May.

Then, Bachelor in Paradise will film during the first half of the summer and air once Katie’s season of The Bachelorette wraps.

Then, the bonus second season of The Bachelorette will film during the summer after Bachelor in Paradise has wrapped and air in the fall.

With two seasons of The Bachelorette comes two Bachelorette leads!

Who will be the second Bachelorette?

While Katie was a fan favorite, some fans were disappointed that she was chosen as The Bachelorette over a woman of color.

The Bachelor has promised to do better after the recent racism controversy and fans thought this would’ve been a good opportunity to prove it.

Fans were hoping that Michelle Young, Serena Pitt or Bri Springs would be chosen as The Bachelorette.

Well, it appears that some fans have gotten their wish.

Michelle will be the second Bachelorette lead. The reason why Katie wasn’t replaced like Reality Steve had originally predicted and a second season was added is because of Michelle’s career.

As a school teacher, she had to miss a good chunk of the school year to film Matt James’ season of The Bachelor.

Michelle didn’t want to miss out on anymore time with her students and she would’ve if she filmed the first season of The Bachelorette in March.

However, she can do both now that her season will reportedly film over the summer.

How do you feel about this new Bachelorette twist?

The Bachelorette is currently on hiatus on ABC.
