Teen Mom OG star Amber Portwood is speaking out for the first time since leaving social media behind.
Amber, who has only spoken out about her arrest on the Teen Mom OG reunion with the supervision of her lawyer, is ready to share her thoughts on everything that happened last summer.
She’s speaking out just days ahead of the Teen Mom OG premiere on MTV.

She was arrested for domestic violence after allegedly attacking Andrew Glennon with a shoe and a machete.
Amber Portwood reveals her arrest was a wake-up call
During a new interview, Portwood reveals that the arrest was a big wake-up call for her.
Amber Portwood spoke to US Weekly about her future, sharing that she had to go through something tough before coming out on the other side.
“I really had to go through something terrible in order for me to kind of sit back and say, ‘Hey, this is what I need to work on. This is how I work on it. And no more excuses. It’s time to actually do the job and get it done — one by one and not putting too much on myself,'” she explained to the magazine.
“I think once I started doing it that way and really working hard on it in the best way that I could, I learned to truly, truly love myself in a sense.”
Amber also reveals that fans are going to see these new changes in the upcoming season of the show as she tries to put her life back together.
“I think that one thing that people are going to see within this next season is me just completely changing, in some aspects, of how I do things differently when it comes to my family and how I relate them back into my life,” she explained.
“I feel like I had this very immature outlook on filling that void in my heart. I needed to fill it with some sort of love and the main focus I had was men at the time.”
Fans will get to see how her relationship with Andrew has changed since her arrest, including how the two handle custody of their son James.
In addition to shifting her focus onto what matters, Amber has also lost weight. She has revealed that she has lost over 30 pounds, primarily due to depression that she went through after the arrest.

Amber is currently filming the new season, documenting her life after her arrest. When the news came out that she was filming the show, fans were furious.
Teen Mom OG viewers wanted Amber fired after she was arrested because they didn’t like how MTV was financially supporting someone who had been arrested for domestic violence.
Many also said that she should be fired to set an example, especially since Jenelle Evans was fired from Teen Mom 2 after her husband, David Eason, shot and killed the family dog — something Jenelle didn’t physically do.
