Love After Lockup returned with all new couples and a brand new season. This time, they found some unique stories, and one of them is Courtney and Josh’s love story.
Now that Josh is home with Courtney, their life on the outside can begin. It didn’t come without a price, though. She’s had a tough life but believes that he is the one person she is meant to be with.
Courtney lost everything because of Josh
When Courtney met Josh, she was a corrections officer, and he was a prisoner. Their relationship was taboo, but despite knowing it, she continued to engage with him.
She was fired from her job, spent 60 days in jail, and was on probation when it was time for Josh to be released. The couple is married, but it wasn’t a traditional ceremony. Neither were present for the actual thing as they were married by proxy.
Now, Josh is home and Courtney has to learn to adjust to what life will be like with her husband.
In this exclusive Love After Lockup clip, Courtney talks about giving up her career to be with Josh. She is emotional when talking about it, but says that it was okay because a career isn’t your whole life.
It’s apparent she is explaining it away so that she can move past it. On top of that, Courtney revealed that she was sexually assaulted by a family member at a young age. It’s been a lot for her, and in the confessional, she is letting it all out.
Will Josh and Courtney be able to survive on the outside together?
The couple appears to be in love and willing to make things work, but that isn’t always the recipe for success. Courtney has a lot of emotional baggage, and with Josh, he has spent time in prison.
He told her he believed her lost job was worth it as she cried to him about how much she loved her job. Josh appears to be selling a fairytale to her, and so far, Courtney is here for it.
As this season of Love After Lockup continues, there are bound to be more twists and turns within their relationship. Will Courtney and Josh be able to survive the test of time and make it through life by each other’s side?
