Gold Rush is returning for Season 8 and the premiere date has been announced — along with a reveal that it starts with a $100,000 bet.
The hit Discovery show was renewed earlier this year and will return on Friday October 13 at 9/8c.
According to People, the series starts with Gold Rush stalwart Todd Hoffman bet parker Schnabel $100,000 that he will find the most gold.
The series will start with a two-hour season premiere at 9/8c with a live event an hour earlier featuring the stars.
Last season saw Hoffman fail to meet his gold target in the finale after a string of bad luck.
Meanwhile, Parker went on to film a spin-off earlier in the summer, Gold Rush: Parker’s Trail.
It saw him and three friends retracing the famous Yukon Klondike trail, formally known as the Chilkoot trail.
Gold Rush returns Friday October 13 at 9/8c on Discovery.
