Although rumored for a long time now, Disney/Pixar has made it official: Bo Peep is back.

The porcelain lamp character and former love interest of Woody will be featured in Toy Story 4. Though still voiced by actress Annie Potts, this Bo Peep has a decidedly different look and attitude.

“She is modern, independent, capable and confident,” said Potts of her character. “Bo is written and conceived to be inspiring as she has weathered life’s ups and downs with grace. I aspire to that.”

According to today’s press release, it’s been years since Bo Beep has seen the gang and has become chipped and faded over time. However, in chapter 4, it is revealed that she’s actually an adventure-seeker free spirit.

“When she and Woody are reunited under unlikely circumstances, they realize they’ve grown worlds apart when it comes to life as a toy,” says Pixar.

“Bo’s taken control of her own destiny,” said Toy Story 4 director Josh Cooley. “While Woody was watching Andy grow up, Bo gathered dust until she took it upon herself to head out into the world. And when Woody shows up, they can’t believe that they’ve found each other again.”

Bo Peep joins the cast along with new unlikely “toy,” Forky who was annouced a few months back.

Directed by Josh Cooley, Toy Story 4 hits theaters on June 21, 2019.
