Nick Cannon issued an apology for “any extra pain or confusion” he’s caused following the revelation that he is expecting his eighth child.

He said he “misspoke” and went into “too much detail,” referencing the death of his son, Zen, when announcing he is expecting another baby boy.

Cannon confirmed earlier this week on his talk show that he is expecting another child.

As previously reported, photos emerged from a gender reveal party for the TV host and Johnny Manziel’s ex-wife, Bre Tiesi, over the weekend.

Cannon has welcomed seven children with four women. His son, with baby mother Alyssa Scott, tragically died from a brain tumor in December.

Nick Cannon apologizes for mentioning his son Zen when announcing his new baby

On The Nick Cannon Show, the host wanted to address some of his comments on the Monday episode earlier this week.

He made it clear that he wanted to respect the privacy of his children’s mothers and admitted to misspeaking when announcing his eighth child.

He continued by adding: “It felt like I was probably making some comparatives or probably discussing when talking about the passing of my son Zen and then also talking about the new child that I’m expecting. I didn’t have to do that. I didn’t need to do that.”

The Wild n Out host then issued an apology to his audience:

“I’m a responsible human being, and I take full responsibility for everything. So I must say, I sincerely apologize to everyone involved.”

In a statement on the video description, he said the following:

“I wish to always protect and respect the privacy of the mothers of all of my children…I know I can do better when dealing with delicate and sensitive discussions. I promise you, I promise the mothers of my children, I promise my family that I will do better and continue to be more understanding, caring, compassionate, like they often show me each and every day.”

Nick Cannon clarifies previous celibacy comment

In a previous interview on the podcast Drink Champs in October, Cannon said he is celibate, adding that he has enough children.

This prompted confusion after the announcement of his son with Bre Tiesi.

However, he clarified the statement as reported on Monsters and Critics, revealing that he started his celibacy journey after Bre’s pregnancy.

Nick is already a father to 10-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, with Mariah Carey, 4-year-old Golden, and 13-month-old Powerful Queen, with Brittany Bell. He also has  7-month-old twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, with Abby De La Rosa.
