It’s a BenAna split as celebrity couple Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas have decided to call it quits on their relationship, and we know it’s serious because Ben has flung his lifesize cardboard cutout of Ana in the trash.
The 48-year-old Dogma actor and the 32-year-old Cuban actress had been linked together since the beginning of last year when they hooked up while filming Deep Water in New Orleans.
The pair were then spotted getting cozy while on holiday in Havana, Cuba. And since then, they were regularly spotted out and about smiling and giggling at each other, seemingly without a care in the world.
However, it seems not all was as rosy as it appeared. Ana reportedly put a stop to their romance after concluding the pair wanted different things from life.
Sources told People that “she broke it off. Their relationship was complicated. Ana doesn’t want to be Los Angeles based, and Ben obviously has to since his kids live in Los Angeles.”
Affleck and de Armas split was amicable
However, it seems the split was amicable; a source also said that while “there is deep love and respect there,” Affleck is happy in his LA life and has plenty of upcoming projects.
ET reported that another source said, “They had little arguments and bickered like any couple, but ultimately the relationship just wasn’t working in the way they both wanted it to anymore. This was a mutual decision.”
One fan on Twitter, who referenced the many pics of the pair constantly laughing together, joked that Ana must not have found Ben’s jokes funny anymore.

However, it seems that the Argo director wasted no time in purging Ana from his home. Just hours after news of the split emerged, photographers spotted a life-sized cardboard cutout of Ana being flung in the trash outside Affleck’s LA home.
Twitter account Ana de Armas updates posted the images online and later claimed that the person throwing it out was Casey Affleck, Ben’s brother.

The de Armas cutout has been seen before out and about in LA as Ana reportedly used it to troll the paparazzi over the summer months. Ben’s children, who he shares with Jennifer Garner, have also been spotted playing with the cutout.

As you’d expect, the internet instantly began making fun of the cardboard cutout. Some fans joked that they wanted their partners to have cardboard cutouts of them while others said they wanted to get their hands on the de Armas one.
One fan said they were going to make cardboard cutouts a “requirement for my relationships.”
Another Twitter user joked that their wife had taken a cardboard cutout of David Boreanaz to their prom.
And another hilariously joked that they had once fallen in love with cardboard cutout but unfortunately they had a “paper-thin personality.”
Ben Affleck has been linked with numerous celebrity women, including Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Lopez; however, he says it was his divorce from Jennifer Garner that has been his biggest regret. The pair were married from 2005 to 2018.
