New Amsterdam is a new NBC show that usually airs on Tuesdays at 10/9c. However, the show won’t be on the network tonight because of the midterm elections. Many of the major networks are covering the midterm elections, including NBC, CBS, and ABC.
After the show’s pilot aired in September with the goal of running a nine-episode season, NBC ordered more episodes, making New Amsterdam a full 22-episode season for the 2018-2019 season.
Before the series was expanded to 22 episodes, Ryan Eggold revealed that the New Amsterdam cast was the best cast to work with. He stars alongside Janet Montgomery, Jocko Sims, Anupam Kher, Freeman Agyeman, Tyler Labine, Zabryna Guevara, and Lisa O’Hare.
New Amsterdam is about Dr. Max Goodwin, a charming doctor with big plans for America’s oldest public hospital. He wants to bring back exceptional care even though it goes against what the staff and doctors are working on.
Working with an understaffed and underfunded hospital, he tries to bring life back into the health care system. The show is inspired by the real-life Bellevue hospital in New York City.
Ryan Eggold didn’t share the news that New Amsterdam won’t be on NBC tonight, but he did tell his followers that he voted in the midterm elections in New York this afternoon.
Eggold, who has been on other NBC shows, may best be known as Tom Keen from The Blacklist and the spin-off show, The Blacklist: Redemption. However, he also has other acting credits on his resume, including Lovesong, Fathers & Daughters, Zero, Battle Scars, and starred in Sons of Liberty from 2015.
Ryan also starred in Entourage, Dirt, Bloom, Out of Jimmy’s Head, and even The Young and the Restless where he played a barista in 2007 for three episodes. You can catch Ryan Eggold in a new episode of New Amsterdam next week.
New Amsterdam airs Tuesdays at 10/9c on NBC.
