Welcome to the weekend! Here’s the best videos from this week’s SNL Weekend Update Summer Edition.
The final special edition show of the summer featured two outstanding segments, with Alex Moffat playing Irish MMA fighter Conor McGregor and Alec Baldwin reprising his role as Donald Trump.
The first clip below features “McGregor” giving his sure-fire Irish stratagem for defeating Floyd Mayweather.
The pair fight in Las Vegas tonight, and “McGregor” gave us a taste of what to expect.
He said: “I’m gonna drive Mayweather out of the ring the way St. Patrick drove the snakes out of Ireland.”
He added: “Piss drunk screaming about Jesus!”
Boasting about his inevitable victory, Conor said: “All it’s going to take me is one punch.”
When told that Mayweather was a “pretty good boxer”, Mcgregor scoffed. He said: “Yeah, but I’m Irish, I’m going to fight the Irish way, get down and just get back up and wander into the pub like nothing happened.
“When I punch Mayweather, he’s gonna see stars…orange stars, pink hearts, yellow moon, green clovers and for a limited time, red balloons.”
When asked about the different styles of fighting, with Conor being a UFC fighter and Mayweather a classic pugilist, he said: “I don’t need luck, I am Irish, Name a luckier group of people!
“Win or lose I get paid $75million, do you know what you can buy for $75million in Ireland? Ireland!”
