Days of our Lives cast members, Kristian Alfonso (Hope Williams Brady), Chandler Massey (Will Horton), Greg Vaughan (Eric Brady) and Camila Banus (Gabriella Hernandez) have responded to the cancelation rumors.

On Tuesday rumors began swirling that Days of our Lives was getting canceled after 54-years on the air. The NBC soap opera is reportedly set to take an extra-long hiatus. Reports also indicated that all cast members had been let out of their contracts.

The rumor mill set social media buzzing. Fans of the long-time daytime show were freaking out over the news DOOL might be ending. All of the cancelation, as well as cast firing news, caught the attention of Kristian, Chandler, Greg, and Camila, who wasted no time setting the record straight.

Kristian was used Instagram to reveal Days is not going anywhere. In a video featuring her in the makeup room at the NBC studios, she let fans know everyone is still on set. Kristian also pulled head-writer, Ron Carlivati, into her video to clear up the rumors. They reiterated the show is still going on and the cast is still working.

Chandler used Twitter to reveal the show is simply halting production for a while. The DOOL production schedule is so far ahead of schedule, it is being halted to save money.

General Hospital, The Bold and the Beautiful, as well as The Young and the Restless, shoot about four to six weeks out. Days, on the other hand, is shooting about six to eight months out.

Shutting down production, while episodes continue to air, will save the show a lot of cash. Lowering production costs is pivotal to keeping NBC from canceling the soap opera.

Greg echoed the words of his costar Chandler, by Tweeting the show has not been canceled. Days is merely taking an official break or hiatus, while already shot episodes continue to air as scheduled.

Fans will not even know the cast or show is on hiatus, as the storylines will play out as initially planned.

Camila did a Twitter live to have a frank and honest discussion with her fans. She was not happy with the “fake news” floating around about Days and her costars.

The brunette beauty went on a rant letting her followers know she has not been fired. Camila also reiterated no one has been fired and the show is not canceled.

There you have it, Days of our Lives fans. Kristian Alfonso, Chandler Massey, Greg Vaughan, and Camila Banus are clearing up any misconceptions about being fired or Days getting canceled.

The hiatus is nothing more than a regularly scheduled hiatus, DOOL takes a break over the holidays each year. This year the crew and cast are taking a significantly longer hiatus but only because the show is months ahead of schedule.

It is true NBC has not renewed the show for next year. Negotiations will be ongoing while the daytime soap is on its extended break.

Has the cast members speaking out eased your mind about Days of our Lives being canceled and the cast being let go?

Days of our Lives airs weekdays on NBC.
