Married at First Sight has matched two “Ryan and Jaclyn” couples throughout the course of the series.
First it was Ryan Rannellone and Jaclyn Methuen from MAFS Season 2, and then there was Jaclyn Schwartzberg and Ryan Buckley from MAFS Season 6 in Boston.
Apart from having their names in common, both couples ended up saying yes on Decision Day only to later get divorced.
Ryan and Jaclyn’s spark sizzles out
Ryan and Jaclyn hit it off quickly and were immediately satisfied about being matched together. They especially appreciated that they were both affectionate people, and the couple didn’t hesitate to embrace their intimacy.
While Jaclyn and Ryan had a lot of flirty moments, they also hit rough patches as well and the pair struggled to communicate. Often in their arguments they’d bring up divorce in the heat of the moment.
Jaclyn didn’t feel heard by Ryan and felt like he would talk at her and not to her when he got agitated. Ryan acknowledged that he talked too much and that chatty trait bothered both Jaclyn and the fellow MAFS Season 6 husbands who would get visibly annoyed with Ryan during their hangouts.
Dr. Pepper had to encourage Ryan to not speak in “always and never” extremes because that was at the root of many of the couple’s fights and caused Jaclyn to shut down and not fully express her feelings with him.
The largest hurdle for the couple to overcome was the tragedy in Jaclyn’s past relationship.
Shortly before signing up for Married at First Sight, Jaclyn’s boyfriend tragically passed away. The recent and sudden loss was absolutely heartbreaking for Jaclyn.
When Jaclyn opened up to Ryan about her loss, Ryan was concerned that Jaclyn may not have truly taken enough time to recover from such a devastating loss. He also worried if Jaclyn was ready to commit and if she would compare him to her past relationship.
Come Decision Day, both felt happy enough in their marriage to agree to stay married.
After 10 months of marriage, Ryan and Jaclyn announced their divorce. An insider reported that, despite the couple’s split, the two remain friends.
Where are Ryan and Jaclyn now?
Ryan, who was a firefighter on the show, now works as a Real Estate Investor. Ryan also appears to be single and enjoys paintball, boxing, and going out with the boys.
Jaclyn, on the other hand, has moved onto a new love, posting tons of photos with her significant other and publicly declaring her love and appreciation for him.
The couple recently got married and Jaclyn feels very grateful for everyone who supported her as she embarked on her latest love story.
Jaclyn still lovingly keeps her late boyfriend in her memory and remains friends with her fellow MAFS costar Molly and MAFS Season 7 star Mia.
