Tammy Rivera and her husband Waka Flocka debut their brand new reality series tonight on WEtv, and it’s going to be a fun one to watch.
But one thing we learned from this Waka & Tammy: What The Flocka exclusive sneak peek is that this series isn’t going to just be a fun romp for these former Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta stars, who made a huge mark when they also starred in Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition.
There will be drama, and Waka is making Tammy put in the work.
Tammy is gearing up to put another album out, something that requires long hours in the studio and quite a bit of work. There’s something else it takes, as Waka Flocka points out, and that is timing.
Tammy Rivera can sing!
Everybody who has been following this longtime reality TV couple knows that Tammy Rivera can sing her butt off. She’s put out quite a bit of music in the last few years and proved that she has the R&B pipes to make her songs come to life.
Waka knows this too and he’s put a lot of money into building up Tammy’s career.
So when it’s time to hit the studio, he makes it pretty clear that he’s dealing with Tammy the artist, not Tammy the wife. There’s no time for hugs and kisses when they’re trying to put in the work.
“Tammy as an artist… she actually sounds great but she doesn’t understand that I’ve spent a lot of money on her career,” Waka explains. “Even though the music is great, timing is everything so she needs to take this s**t serious.”
There’s a crisis in the studio
Waka is ready to get Tammy Rivera’s project wrapped up and ready to sell but it turns out, there’s going to be a delay, and he’s not going to be happy.
So when Waka asked how things were going, everyone got quiet and Tammy didn’t want to be the one to share the bad news.
It turns out that, while Tammy was recording, a storm knocked out the battery backup and fried the drive that the music was recorded on.
They are working to defrag the hard drive but if they aren’t able to restore the music, Tammy is going to need to record it all over again and that won’t be cheap.
Not to mention, it’s going to take a lot more time, and sometimes, you just can’t remake that same sound. This could be a total nightmare!
Will Waka and Tammy be able to salvage days worth of work on her album?
Waka & Tammy: What The Flocka premieres on Thursday, March 12 at 10/9c on WEtv.
