It is no secret that Ashley Darby and Candiace Dillard Bassett have had a rocky relationship during their time on The Real Housewives of Potomac.
Both girls were beauty queens, with Candiace winning Miss United States and Ashley Darby competing in the Miss America pageant, winning Miss D.C. But the similarities between the two seem to stop there, as noted by Ashley on a recent podcast appearance.
Ashley, who just turned 34-years-old, spoke with podcast host Melissa Pfeister where she spilled some serious tea.
The host wondered why Ashley got along with costar Gizelle Bryant after the two feuded extensively, but she could not get along with Candiace. According to Ashley, the reason is due to fundamental character differences, including compassion.

Ashley Darby spoke on the podcast Side Piece with Melissa Pfeister while celebrating her birthday and filming Season 7 of The Real Housewives of Potomac.
The host, Melissa, had a lot of questions about Ashley’s recent separation from her husband of eight years, Michael Darby. Ashley divulged that she could not reveal too much because the show is currently filming Season 7, but she said once the show wraps, she will be able to do so.
Melissa also wondered why Ashley and Gizelle resolved their issues after going at each other’s throats, but she and Candiace were not.
Ashley conceded that while she and Candiace have a lot in common, she felt she and Candiace were just so different in the “big” areas. For one, Ashley said she felt she was a more accepting person than Candiace. Ashley opined that she was more compassionate than Candiace. Finally, Ashley shared that she was able to approach situations more level-headed than Candiace. Indeed, Candiace is known to lash out and go for the jugular at fans and castmates alike.
Will Candiace and Ashley reconcile this season? It doesn’t look promising, although the two were pictured during a recent cast trip to Mexico.

The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 7 is filming, although it is said to be wrapping up soon. The cast just took their final cast trip to Mexico, and the voyage coincided with Ashley’s birthday. A recently-separated Ashley made the best of the trip, posting bikini videos on TikTok as she danced and showed off her sick post-baby body.
Ashley Darby’s black bikini dance in a hotel pool under the Mexican sun garnered a fair amount of praise.
Ashley’s braless crop top dance was another hit on TikTok.
As Ashley continues her hot mama summer as a single woman, more thirst traps and bikini videos are expected and welcomed.
