These are trying times for all of us, and Real Housewives of New Jersey star Melissa Gorga is feeling the stress too.
In Melissa’s home state of New Jersey, there are over 742 cases of coronavirus spread throughout 19 of the state’s 21 counties. The number of cases is expected to rise. As of now, most schools in the state have been closed since Monday or sooner.
Melissa has three kids- Antonia, 14, Gino, 12, and Joey, 9. All three are now home due to school closures, so it’s safe to say she probably has her hands full.
Melissa, however, understands that lots of people have even more work to do, and she’s trying to give credit where credit is due. In a sweet Instagram post she put up two days ago, Melissa thanked all the nurses who are on the front lines fighting the pandemic.

Melissa gave a personal shout out to her nieces
In the post, Melissa gave a special shout out to all nurses, but particularly her nieces Gianna Pollara and Lexi Pirrella.
The photo featured in the post showed exhausted healthcare workers resting in various places and was captioned, “Not all heroes wear capes…but a whole dedicated bunch of them wear scrubs.”
“We all need to take a moment and realize how hard the nurses are working right now,” Melissa said. “They are suiting up in all the special gear to walk in the rooms of these patients and help them,” she added.
According to Melissa, Gianna and Lexi are working very hard during this time of need. She says that while the two are exhausted, they’re still working as hard as they can to keep people safe and healthy.
Gianna thanked her aunt and gave some practical advice for fans: “Everyone please wash your hands and stay home!!!”
Melissa’s husband Joe chimed in as well, calling healthcare workers “the real heroes.”
Melissa just wrapped the tenth season of RHONJ
Real Housewives of New Jersey premiered way back in 2008, and Melissa’s sister-in-law Teresa Giudice was a cast member of that first season. Melissa joined Teresa in the second season as a guest, and in the third season as a main cast member.
This season, Melissa’s storyline primarily focused on her 40th birthday and her decision to try for a fourth child. Although she had a bit of baby fever, she admitted that starting over with a new baby nine years after the birth of her last child would be quite the undertaking.
In the end, Melissa Gorga and Joe decided not to have a fourth child- at least for now. Viewers will be able to continue following the Gorgas on future seasons of Real Housewives of New Jersey.
Real Housewives of New Jersey airs on Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
