Shawniece Jackson and Jephte Pierre first appeared on Season 6 of Married at First Sight when the show traveled to Boston for the first time.

The cosmetologist blindly married the elementary school teacher, and they immediately began to have issues in their marriage.

Despite their rocky start, the two managed to find enough common ground to keep their relationship going. They’ve now been together for 5 years and are raising their daughter, Laura.

Understanding how unique and difficult this process can be, Shawniece and Jephte have been open about the struggles in their marriage and how much effort they’ve put into making it work.

They recently decided to take their first-hand experience and share their thoughts and opinions on the couples featured in Season 15.

Following in the footsteps of Season 9 couple Deonna McNeill and Greg Okotie, Shawniece and Jephte shared their reactions to the newest couples in a write-up for People. In their article, they recapped the latest episode where most of the couples are now married and have started their journeys as husband and wife.

After the most recent episode of MAFS aired, 4 of the 5 couples this season have now gone through with their weddings. Shawniece and Jephte shared their insight on the weddings and their predictions for the couples.

First, they discussed Krysten and Mitch who fans are not so impressed with. Shawniece and Jephte’s initial reaction to this duo was like many viewer’s thoughts. They noticed that while Krysten appeared happy with who she was matched with, Mitch did not seem to share the same sentiments.

They gave Mitch the benefit of the doubt, saying he seems like someone who puts more emphasis on getting to know someone instead of focusing on appearances. In the end, they believe Krysten and Mitch can make it work. They feel that he just needs a little time to get comfortable with his new wife, then things will be smooth sailing.

Next, they talked about Lindy and Miguel. The main concern for this couple is their stance on religion. Lindy and her family appeared to make it clear that religion is very important to them. On the other hand, Miguel seemed nonchalant about the topic.

Both Shawniece and Jephte agreed that Miguel was respectful of Lindy’s beliefs and did not try to dismiss the role religion plays in her life. They feel that if the two can find a happy medium on the topic, they will be successful in their marriage.

Two couples seem to have undeniable chemistry

Once Nate and Stacia appeared on screen, Shawniece and Jephte couldn’t deny the chemistry they seemed to have. They also pointed out how Nate and Stacia’s family and friends were enjoying each other’s company and were clicking well.

Despite their initial attraction to one another, Nate did have a questionable moment with one of his female friends. She was present at the wedding and had a lot to say about Nate to Stacia.

Shawniece and Jephte picked up on that and even said the situation made them feel “uneasy.” However, they have faith in the duo. They think if they set clear boundaries with one another, and are willing to put in the work, they’ll be good together.

Lastly, they shared their thoughts on Alexis and Justin. These two also appeared to have a strong connection and lots of chemistry with one another.

The veteran couple pointed out how the newlyweds couldn’t seem to keep their hand to themselves and were constantly touching one another during their reception. For Shawniece and Jephte, that felt like a good sign.

Although Alexis did swipe left on Justin on a dating app some time ago, they are hoping she now sees how well they fit together. When making their prediction about this pair, Shawniece and Jephte said, “The future looks bright.”

There is just one more couple left – Morgan and Binh. Unfortunately, their wedding was postponed due to Binh being exposed to COVID-19. However, fans will finally get to see them meet in the next episode.

Married at First Sight airs Wednesday nights at 8/7c on Lifetime.
