Below Deck Mediterranean star Captain Sandy Yawn and her girlfriend, Leah Shafer, are celebrating four years together.
Captain Sandy and Leah met in 2018, nearly two years after the captain made her reality television debut on Below Deck Med Season 2.
However, they did not make their relationship public until May 2019, ahead of Below Deck Mediterranean Season 4 hitting Bravo airwaves.
They met via Facebook and chatted for a while before deciding to go on a date in Los Angeles, where Captain Sandy lived at the time.
The captain knew it was love, so she uprooted her life to move to Denver, where Leah lived with her daughter and the rest of her family.
Four years later, Captain Sandy and Leah are stronger than ever after enduring some really challenging times in their romance.

Leah used Facebook to gush over her girlfriend while revealing they were celebrating their fourth anniversary.
A series of photos of the couple accompanied the lengthy message, including one from their first date. Leah did not hold back her feelings for the Below Deck Med starlet.
“From our first time meeting in 2018 to now. We are now Going into year 4 and i still love this woman beyond. Relationships take work and sacrifice and patience, but this is the first relationship i’ve ever had where i WANTED to give it my all, because i am actually in love. Sandy and I couldn’t be more opposite. I calm her and she reminds me to play. It’s a balance we are still figuring out and it’s a beautiful ride,” Leah wrote to her love.
Along with using Facebook to acknowledge her anniversary with Captain Sandy, Leah also took to Instagram.
Instead of using the same photos and caption from her Facebook message, Leah opted to use a video of the happy couple having fun together.

This summer, several Bravo stars took on Cannes to celebrate the network and its many fantastic shows. Captain Sandy brought her love Leah along for the festivities, where she was a speaker at one event.
They spent time with Below Deck alum Kate Chastain, Andy Cohen, and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars Dorit Kemsley and Garcelle Beauvais.
Captain Sandy shared photos from the event, including one of just her and Leah.
