It’s only two episodes into Below Deck Down Under Season 3, and viewers have strong opinions about the crew.
Sous Chef Anthony Bird has been one hot topic from the jump because of his behavior.
There’s something about cocky chefs with an attitude that the Below Deck franchise loves.
Season 5 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht had Chef Cloyce Martin, and now Below Deck Down Under Season 3 has Anthony.
Although Anthony is supposed to be Chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph’s right hand, he’s been her biggest critic instead.
X (formerly Twitter) was on fire during Below Deck Down Under Season 3, Episode 2, about how Anthony acted.
Below Deck Down Under viewers drag Anthony over behavior
‘Tzarina is not wrong. If Anthony is such a great chef, why is he just a sous chef. He needs to check his ego at the door,” read an X.
Another X declared that all Anthony likes to do is complain, which he does about everything.
“anthony’s problem is his delivery. it’s the way he says things. it’s obvious he’s very cocky and arrogant. i want to see him put his money where his mouth is. he and tzarina got off on the wrong foot. maybe both are to blame but she is trying,” said an X.
One X user hopes Anthony doesn’t last the whole season because he’s hurting Tzarina rather than helping her.
An X called out Anthony for talking about Tzarina during the crew night-out dinner.
Not everyone was coming just for Anthony; some social media comments targeted him and Tzarina.
More Below Deck Down Under fans sound off on the galley drama
“Anthony is such a typical London boy, i think him and Tzarina are both at fault, she’s very condescending and he’s cocky with a chip on his shoulder,” wrote one X user.
A different X brought up the awful communication between the two chefs, and we are only on the second episode.
When one X slammed Anthony for having suggestions about the dinner but not bringing them up, he had a fan come to his defense.
“Anthony’s ideas were much better than Tzarina’s Outback Steakhouse menu. Yeehaw. 🤠,” read the X.
There are so many thoughts on Below Deck Down Under Season 3 new crew member, Anthony Bird.
We know from Season 2 that Chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph has her issues and can be her own worst enemy.
Do you think that is the case with Anthony, or is he the problem?
Keep checking back with Monsters and Critics as the working dynamic between Tzarina and Anthony unfolds this season.
Below Deck Down Under airs Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo.
He won’t last the season he is way to immature he is not the chef but sons chef. Why take the job if you thought is was beneath you.
Don’t like Anthony. Extremely arrogant.
Absolutely. He’s a child in a man’s body. We have waited so long for a sous chief and what do we get —- a crybaby 😢👶
Most men and many women have a problem with a female boss, which explains the dynamic between the chief stew and her underlings. Anthony is the “sous” chef, meaning under chef. His job is to take a load off his boss, Tzarina. If that means washing dishes and scrubbing pots and pans, so be it. If he does what he’s told well, Tzarina may give him more cooking jobs, which is what he should aspire to do. He clearly wants his boss’ job. Just because he may have worked in a Michelin-star restaurant doesn’t make him a Michelin-star chef. He’s really just an apprentice (as I was once, years ago). He needs to EARN the higher=ranking position.
