The Bachelorette Season 19 finale delivered tense drama as cheating allegations, leaked texts, and more were addressed.
Tino Franco was at the center of much of the night’s drama as it was revealed he cheated on Rachel Recchia after their engagement.
Tino kissed another woman while engaged to Rachel, and cameras filmed Rachel and Tino’s heated confrontation as Rachel urged Tino to be honest and accountable for his actions.
Instead, Tino brought out a book of quotes from Rachel that he appeared to suggest pushed him into the arms of another woman for what he deemed a “tiny” kiss.
Rachel and Tino broke up during the conversation and continued their tense discussion in front of the live audience on After the Final Rose.
In a surprising turn of events, Rachel’s runner-up Aven Jones then walked out and asked Rachel if she wanted to leave with him, to which she happily agreed.
Tino was then left to watch Rachel and Aven walk off as he awkwardly stayed on stage with Jesse Palmer.
Many viewers and Bachelor Nation stars felt uncomfortable with how Tino was humiliated on the show and took to social media to share their thoughts.
The Bachelorette called out for demoralizing Tino Franco
Bachelor Nation’s Ashley Iaconetti was shaken and unhappy with how Tino was treated on ATFR, calling the moment “cruel.”
She tweeted, “I’m really, truly, upset by the way that moment was handled. It was cruel. We can support Rachel and not absolutely publicly demoralize someone.”
Nick Viall shared, “Whatever that was…I hated it.” Ashely reacted to Nick’s tweet by further emphasizing how cruel it was to humiliate Tino even despite his unfaithfulness.
Bachelor Nation’s Chris Bukowski also agreed with Nick’s tweet and hated the moment.
Other commenters urged the franchise to be better after belittling Tino.
Reality Steve slams the show’s decision to embarrass Tino
Bachelor Nation’s top spoiler source, Reality Steve, also shared his thoughts on the situation.
Realty Steve acknowledged that Tino messed up and cheated and made himself look bad, but it didn’t justify bringing Aven out in front of him.
His tweet included, “But doing this w/ Aven like I told you would happen while Tino is on stage is bulls**t.”
The eventful finale certainly got people talking and feeling torn on disapproving of Tino’s actions while also being upset by the show’s handling of Tino’s actions.

That entire conversation should never have taken place. An apology could have been made and Rachel should have accepted it thus allowing both to get on with their lives. Ridiculous!
It should have all ended when she gave back the ring.
The whole time racheal was just worried about getting engaged at the end! Not about actually building a relationship. I felt horrible for Tino! Yes he made a mistake, and he was trying to make amends. All she wanted to do was beat him up over it. In my opinions Racheal is a spoiled brat! She had many guys who wanted to be with her , they were not ready to be engaged. So They got sent home, or left! Tino was trapped because he was the only one left.
Terrible, those two were the worse bachelorettes ever! And, there was no reason to air dirty laundry on air for everyone to see. I think Rachel was more concerned with making herself look good than anything else. Apology from him, acceptance from her….all that was needed. (She did take the ring off)

The producers brought Aven on to humiliate and embarrass Tino. It was totally uncalled for. The man apologized several times, and Rachel refused to accept it. It was a disgusting turn of events. I hate the direction this show has taken.
Exactly Tino DID apologize se real times and she just kept at him. She was horrible to him. Yes he made a mistake and we all do at some point but enough of the berating then to smack in in the face with Aven. REALLY how humiliating for him.
U totally agree. Tino apologized more than once but she wasn’t listening. As far as I’m concerned she made a mountain out of molehill……long term relationships go through more than a little kiss. Get over it Rachel. Good luck Tino Hope you find a real woman.
Did you see the smile on Tino’s face when Aven appeared? This was so staged, Tino knew this was going to happen as well as Rachel. This was the worse Bachelorette Season EVER with all the “staged drama”.
Smile is acknowledging Aven but humiliated at the same time. Human response and Tino did not know about it. That is why it was cruel and mean.
Was the HUGE DEAL of cheating limited to a kiss???????? If so, I agree Rachel is a spoiled princess. She would not even listen to a complete sentence Tino tried to get out. Obviously, he had tried to reason with her before and realized he would need his book of notes to keep the one-way conversation on track.
I hate how they embarrassed Tino and humiliated him! Rachel is a spoiled witch! She wouldn’t even let him speak. It was important how he felt also and he thought they were broken up at the time. I say Tino run and run fast far far away!
This awful scene should have been taken place off camera. The “oh so vociferous ” girl never gave the guy a chance. He took responsibility for his actions, end of matter..She sounded so “snarky” ! No more dual contestants PLEASE. !
Rachel was a drama queen throughout the show. Tino admitted and apologized for his behavior, no one is perfect. Bringing Aven on the show was classless! I hope Tino finds his happiness too.
He wasn’t justifying his actions and he tried over and over to clarify that. Understanding what was going on with a person when they did something wrong isn’t justifying it. Nothing was going to be restored, and Tino should be thankful to be free of such a controlling relationship. Shame on the show for encouraging the most IMMATURE behaviour EVER!!! Ratings aren’t worth promoting the bullying and humiliation of another person!!!! Rachel is no where near being mature enough for a marriage path relationship. Congrats to Gabby for seeing things maturely and not behaving the same way.
Rachel didn’t listen to Tino. He “may” have done something wrong, but he did apologize. Treating Tino like that was disgusting and very low class!!!
