Laurence Basse was recently revealed as the favorite to win Season 15 of hit Lifetime show Project Runway. But who is she?
Laurence, 41, is a designer and former model from Los Angeles, CA, who has been on the path to becoming a designer ever since she first realised she had an eye for design aged 10.
She spent six years studying fashion design at the Elisa Lemonnier School For The Art in Paris and already runs her own website selling her creations at laurencebase.com.
The site focuses on custom designs — mainly in leather — for both men and women, but has also been listing some of her creations from Project Runway.
Laurence spent 15 years as a model, working for a string of top brands including Jean-Paul Gaultier and Benetton and featuring in leading fashion magazines including French Elle and Cosmopolitan.
Her site includes tops and jackets for women, tee-shirts and jackets for men, as well as bags and small leather goods.
An iPhone leather case she designed will set you back $45, while a ‘Blackout’ beaded leather woman’s motorcycle jacket with asymmetric front zippers costs $1,850.
