This week on Expedition Unknown, Josh Gates finally goes in search of what is perhaps the most iconic of lost archeological treasure – The Ark of the Covenant.
His journey takes him from ancient tunnels deep below the street of biblical Jerusalem to a long lost kingdom in Ethiopia and a mysterious and isolated island.
The Ark of the Covenant is a religious relic said to contain the very tablets given to Moses on the mount. The word of god carved into stone and handed down to mankind to follow. Some of the tales also say it houses Aaron’s magical rod and mana that was said to have fallen from heaven during the Israelites exodus from Egypt.
Some treasure hunters even think the Ark made it’s way to Oak Island and the Lagina’s on The Curse of Oak Island have mentioned it a few times.
However, will Josh’s methodical and global search finally give a clue as to this most sacred of object’s location?
