Season 2 of Mayans M.C. won’t begin airing until September 2019, which is quite a long wait for fans of the FX hit. However, a bit of news revealed to Monsters & Critics recently will make it worth every second.

FX Networks renewed the successful television series created by Kurt Sutter and Elgin James short of airing its fifth episode.

Now Sons of Anarchy and Mayans M.C. fans have been treated to the news that Sons of Anarchy alum Danny Trejo will return to reprise his role as Romero “Romeo” Parada in the second season of Mayans M.C.

During an interview with Monsters & Critics, actor and entrepreneur Danny Trejo revealed he would reprise his role as Romeo Parada in Mayans M.C.

Asked if fans would get to see him in the Sons of Anarchy spin-off, Trejo responded enthusiastically, “Yeah, Yes absolutely.”

What Trejo didn’t share is exactly when his character would show up on Mayans M.C.

When FX released the plot premise for Mayans M.C. before the production of Season 1, fans speculated that the Galindo Cartel’s involvement hinted towards the return of Sons of Anarchy characters included in the catalytic plot that surrounded the fourth season.

Speculations further increased when Sons of Anarchy Season 4 antagonist US Attorney Lincoln Potter (Ray McKinnon) returned to Mayans M.C. in the episode Gato/Mis.

In Mayans M.C., Potter is hell-bent on putting Cartel Prince, Miguel Galindo, in his back pocket all while threatening the main protagonist Ezekiel Reyes (JD Pardo) with exposing his DEA informant deal.

Romeo Parada and his partner Luis Torres (Benito Martinez) famously stifled Lincoln Potter’s RICO case against the Sons of Anarchy motorcycle club. Romeo and Luis were undercover CIA working with the Galindo Cartel at the time, headed by Miguel’s father Jose Galindo.

At the moment, there is no word on whether or not we will see the return of Benito Martinez to reprise his role of Luis Torres.

However, we can only imagine that with the return of Danny Trejo, we will at least discover what Romeo has been up to since last seen in episode “Darthy” during Season 5 of Sons of Anarchy.

More importantly, we hope to learn what role the CIA operator doubling as a high ranking cartel member will play in the overall story arc against the famous Sons of Anarchy antagonist Lincoln Potter in Season 2 of Mayans M.C.

According to Co-Creator and Showrunner Kurt Sutter, Season 2 of Mayans M.C. is expected to begin production in May 2019, with an expected on schedule premiere in September 2019.
