It’s the season finale of Born This Way tonight — with the show’s second run ending in an episode full of all the emotion and joy that we’ve come to expect from this fascinating series.
Luckily for fans, we all already have something to look forward to after the show was renewed this week for a ten-episode third season, expected to air in 2017.
Born This Way has been an emotional and amazing ride as we’ve followed the lives of Megan, Elena, Steven, Sean, Cristina, and John.
All were born with Down syndrome but don’t let it affect them as they pursue their dreams.
The season finale sees Megan finding out that looking after a newborn isn’t nearly as easy as she’d thought it would be.
Rachel also finds love, while Steven’s feelings towards Megan come to the fore — and the wait is over for Cristina, who got engaged to fiance Angel in Season One, as we finally see her in her wedding dress.
The result is an absolute must-watch episode, and comes after Born This Way deservedly won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Series earlier this month.
A&E Head of Programming Elaine Frontain Bryant praised the show’s creators as she announced its renewal for Season 3 this week.
She said: “It is a shining example of what the entertainment business needs more of – powerful, thought-provoking storytelling with a greater purpose.”
