The Walking Dead: Will the writers kill off Rosita Espinosa in Season 10?

The writers for The Walking Dead decided to keep the character of Rosita Espinosa alive through the pike episode of the show. That was where she was killed off in the comics, falling victim to Alpha and her minions.

As Season 10 progresses on AMC, the writers seem to be hinting that Rosita could be killed off on the show. But would they really allow her to survive the executions, just to die with less impact about a year later?

Gamma (played by Thora Birch) was shown poisoning the water and many people at Alexandria are getting sick. Is there a correlation there? It seems likely, even though it would seem like these people would know how to purify their water after years of surviving post-apocalypse. Either way, Rosita is now sick.

Christian Serratos as Rosita Espinosa on The Walking Dead cast

The actress playing Rosita, Christian Serratos, was a welcome addition to the show when she joined The Walking Dead cast in Season 4. In the arc for television, she was recruited by Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz) to help him get Eugene Porter (Josh McDermitt) to Washington D.C., where Eugene says he can put the cure he knows into action.

Rosita, Abraham, and Eugene eventually join the group of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), but not before having to deal with Terminus first. Later, Rosita has lots of storylines during the war with the Saviors, is shot, and heads to the Sanctuary to help survivors of the fighting.

For her first four or five seasons on the show, Serratos got to really work with the character of Rosita, making her beloved by many fans of the show. In Season 9, though, the storylines seemed to be drying up a bit. Now, as Season 10 progresses, viewers are seeing even less about Rosita, despite her having a baby with Siddiq (Avi Nash) on the show.

Hopefully, the character quickly recovers from being sick, much like Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) did after catching a bad case of the flu while residing at the prison.

After surviving Alpha’s (Samantha Morton) executions and making it this far into the show, Rosita deserves a better fate than just dying from poisoned water and, hopefully, Serratos gets to give it to her.

The Walking Dead airs Sunday nights at 9/8c on AMC.
