When Roseanne was morphed into The Conners without Roseanne Barr at the helm, many critics predicted that the show would not be successful without its star. Now, after a handful of episodes have played out on ABC, it’s time to take a look at the ratings to see if The Conners is struggling or if the show is actually doing fine with Roseanne.

The Conners ratings continue to be strong for ABC. For Episode 3, which aired on October 30, an estimated 7.75 million viewers tuned in.

As for the key demographic, a report from TV By the Numbers relayed the good news for the show. The show received a 1.8 rating for the week, which was an improvement from a 1.7 rating for the previous episode.

For viewers aged 18-49, The Conners won its time slot. Beating out shows like The Voice and NCIS in the 8/7c time slot is a big deal, especially since the numbers went up from just a week ago.

In fact, when compared to all primetime shows for Tuesday night, The Conners was only behind the 2.1 rating for This is Us. In terms of overall viewership numbers, NCIS was still the king with 12.14 million estimated viewers.

The Conners ratings compared to Roseanne reboot

When the Roseanne reboot debuted in spring 2018, the ratings far surpassed expectations for the show. ABC aired two episodes on the first night, which each one drawing in millions of viewers.

The first new episode had a 4.9 rating and 17.7 million viewers, with the second episode jumping up to a 5.1 rating and 18.6 million viewers.

The numbers for the Roseanne reboot did take a dive before the season ended, though, finishing with a 2.4 rating and 10.3 million viewers for the season finale.

A lot of television viewers tuned in to the Roseanne reboot to see if the show was as good as when it was first on ABC. A lot of viewers ended up tuning out after a while. As for The Conners ratings, it appears that viewers are starting to pick up.

The next episode of The Conners is on November 13. Will the numbers keep trending upward?

The Conners airs Tuesday nights at 8/7c on ABC.

I myself don’t watch The Conners. It’s not the same without Rosanne.

They can try to sell it all they want…… they are ONLY keeping it on to try and prove a point that it can live without her….. It can’t. Haven’t watched one without her in and never will. The End.
