Dirty John seems to be a massive hit at Bravo with the third episode of the first season airing this past Sunday on Bravo. The second episode aired just last week and it was the network’s highest-rated scripted telecast ever.

The numbers were in the double digits from the series premiere, which aired just two weeks ago. Bravo reports that the ratings for the second episode were up 20 percent total, with viewers falling around 2.5 million.

That makes Dirty John the largest episode 2 growth in any new ad-supported cable scripted series in 2018, which is rather impressive considering the show got mixed reviews. These facts were all shared in a press release from Bravo.

Dirty John stars Connie Britton as Debra Newell, who falls in love with John Meehan, played by Eric Bana. The show is based on the true story, first documented on the podcast Dirty John.

The show has earned Connie Britton a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television.

Even though Dirty John is based on a real story, Bravo has already ordered a second season. According to Deadline, Dirty John received two seasons straight to order from Bravo Media, but the network hasn’t revealed what the second season will be about. This current story about Debra Newell will wrap up this season.

Deadline reveals that the second season will cover a brand new story. If the idea is to create a show that documents people who have schemed, tricked, and committed crimes against unsuspected individuals, the show could potentially go on for years. John in the title could simply become a John Doe, meant to reveal a dishonest person.

At present time, Bravo has not said anything a potential third season, but if the ratings continue, a new order for more episodes could be just around the corner.

Dirty John airs Sundays at 10/9c on Bravo.
