Fox News have just hired 25-year-old Tomi Lahren as a political pundit, but who is this young firebrand?

Lahren was born in 1992 and grew up in a military family living in Rapid City, South Dakota. She later attended the University of Nevada and then moved to San Diego.

With a strong interest in politics and being passionate about the conservative cause, she worked as an intern for Republican congresswoman Kristi Noem.  Later Lahren applied to One America News Network to try and kick start her career in political commentary via an internship.

However, they were so impressed that they actually offered her a show to host instead of an internship. Her show was called On Point with Tomi Lahren and started broadcasting in August of 2014.

Lahren’s show ran for a year and during that time she garnered countrywide attention through her comments about the Republican party being full of old, rich white men. She was equally scathing about the Democrats and soon started to pick up a large social media following.

The Blaze followed in November 2015 and her rants on the show proved very popular, often going viral to millions of people.

However, her forthright opinions did get her into bother in March 2017 when she said that all women should have access to abortion and attacked the position of some pro-lifers. Pro-lifers Glenn Beck, who owns The Blaze, was not impressed and suspended her from the show.

Lahren then filed a wrongful termination law suit, though it was later settled with the commentator being allowed to keep her popular Facebook page but having to remove all her Blaze videos.

A few months later in May she began working for the Great America Alliance but made it clear she wanted to return to political commentary as quickly as possible.

With Fox’s announcement Lahren has her wish and with nearly 5 million likes on Facebook, her star seems set to rise even higher.

Posting about the news on Facebook she said: “I am blessed and honored to join the Fox News team. This exciting new step will allow me to give voice to all the America-loving patriots.”

You can catch Toni Lahren’s first contribution to FOX tonight at 10 P.M. on Sean Hannity’s show.
