Miles Gaston Villanueva has been added to The Resident as the newest doctor on scene. His character may cause a bit of a stir, which is just what the show needs to shake it up and keep it fresh for another season.
The Resident is currently airing Season 2 and has been a hit with viewers, with an additional nine episodes ordered for this season. While there are already some fan-favorite doctors, a newbie might sweep in and steal that honor as well.
Who is the new doctor on The Resident?
Alec is the new doctor played by Miles Gaston Villanueva. It is a very different character than many would envision. He has been given a lot of worldly experience, much of which has affected who he has become. Alec is incredibly tender when it comes to patients but his demeanor around the other doctors and hospital staff won’t be as kind.
It looks like a love interest may happen for Alec, though it appears he hasn’t had anything of substance within a relationship. With all of the various places he has lived and things he has seen, Alec could be a tough cookie for anyone to crack.
What else has Miles Gaston Villanueva worked on?
Some viewers may recognize Miles Gaston Villanueva from his time in the daytime world. He was on The Young and the Restless and played the part of Luca Santori. Being paired with Summer Newman (Hunter King) definitely kicked things up a notch.
Aside from his The Young and the Restless stint, Miles Gaston Villanueva also appeared on Jane the Virgin, For the People, and Chasing Life. He also stepped into the role of Lyle Menendez in the Law & Order: True Crime mini-series based on the story of the Menendez brothers who murdered their parents.
His resume spans across various genres and having Miles Gaston Villanueva land on The Resident could be a really interesting deal for viewers.
The Resident airs Monday nights at 8/7c on FOX.
