Fans want to know what happened to Dwight in The Walking Dead. This stems from recent episodes, where the character has been brought up again.

Dwight was a member of the Saviors and worked closely with Negan. It could even be stated that he was the right-hand man of Negan.

Dwight had a change of heart, choosing to help Rick and his companions, working as a double agent to pass on information. Negan eventually discovered what was going on, though, leading to what took place during the Season 8 finale. Negan used Dwight as part of a trap that was set to lure the good guys into a shootout during the season finale.

Where is Dwight?

After the battle that took place during the episode called Wrath, Daryl drove Dwight into the forest. It seemed like a moment that had been foreshadowed for a while. Daryl now had the upper hand and could punish Dwight for everything bad he had done for the Saviors (and to Daryl).

The end of the conversation between Dwight and Daryl, in the woods, ended with Daryl throwing a set of keys at Dwight. He told him to go find his wife, but that Dwight will be killed if he ever decides to return.

As the episode drew to a close, Dwight is shown coming upon the house where Sherry had stayed. He finds a note there, with the message “honeymoon” left for him.

Dwight has survived through a lot. He survived getting caught by Negan, he survived the war between the good guys and the Saviors, and he lived through an encounter with Daryl. Could Dwight return to the series? It’s certainly possible. Actor Austin Amelio would likely jump at that chance, but there haven’t been any rumors of his return. Yet.

The Walking Dead airs Sunday nights at 9/8c on AMC.
