Riverdale left viewers with so many questions following the winter finale. All season long the Gargoyle King has been the biggest mystery and in the final moments of the show, Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos) can be seen in his office with the mythical creature.

The entire town of Riverdale is under quarantine, leaving Jughead (Cole Sprouse) and FP (Skeet Ulrich) without anywhere to go. Archie (KJ Apa) and Fred Andrews (Luke Perry) are also away from the town leaving viewers wondering what will happen to the others as things get worse.

What date will Riverdale return?

Following the mid-season finale last night, Riverdale won’t return until January 16, 2019. Many viewers are planning to rewatch the season and look back for clues that they may have missed.

Season 3 is more supernatural than the first two seasons, and this time around there is plenty that could have been overlooked.

What is next for the Riverdale residents?

With the quarantine in place around the town, no one is allowed to come or go. Jughead and Archie are both outside of Riverdale with no way in to rescue their friends. Hiram’s next move is unclear but he is willing to sell his soul to ensure the drug empire has destroyed the little town for good.

There are plenty of questions about the motives behind why Hiram is doing what he is doing. Veronica (Camila Mendes) has been on to him all along, which begs the question about her fate. Would Hiram Lodge really sacrifice his daughter for the plan?

Riverdale airs Wednesday nights at 8/7c on the CW network.
