Vikings exclusive: Watch brothers King Harald and Halfdan sing a requiem for war

King Harald Finehair on Vikings
King Harald Finehair (Peter Franzen) serenades to his camp before heading off into war on Vikings

After many lives were lost on the battlefield, most of the Vikings tried to avoid a second wave of the Lothbrok civil war but Ivar the Boneless (Alex Hogh Andersen) cannot allow his mother’s murder go unavenged.

In tonight’s mid-season finale, bloodshed will be massive as Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) now has Bishop Heahmund (Jonathan Rhys Myers) as a new ally to join her defense of Kattegat with son Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig), Halfdan (Jasper Paakkonen) and Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith).

Ivar and King Harald’s (Peter Franzen) army has grown with the surprise addition of Rollo’s troops from Frankia in support of nephew Hvitserk (Marco Ilso). Meanwhile on Iceland, Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard) fights to maintain order on his settlement after violence erupts within.

Watch this chilling exclusive clip of brothers King Harald and Halfdan, now on either side of the war, singing as they await what fate has in store for all of them.

There are a load of burning questions that are left unresolved with tonight’s midseason finale left to answer:

• Which of the major players will perish on the field?

• Will Hvitserk turn on Ivar?

• Will Ubbe turn on Lagertha?

• Will Bjorn’s new wife untie him?

• Will Rollo (Clive Standen) enter the war himself?

• Will Astrid (Josefin Asplund) remain loyal to King Harald?

• Will crazy Margrethe (Ida Nielsen) do something horrific with Torvi’s (Georgia Hirst) children?

• How can Floki keep the peace now that one of his followers has committed murder?

• Will the Seer find his car keys?

What do you think is going to happen in tonight’s Season 5 mid-season finale? Tune in tonight at 9pm on History, Odin will certainly be watching.
