Vanessa Lachey is final lead in TV Land’s new First Wives Club

Vanessa Lachey has been cast as the final lead character in TV Land’s adaptation of The First Wives Club.

Lachey joins Alyson Hannigan and Rebecca Addelman on the reboot of the 1996 comedy film starring Diane Keaton, Goldie Horne and Bette Midler.

The First Wives Club focuses on the three main characters — al divorcees — as they bid to take revenge on the husbands who left them for younger women.

TV Land announced a pilot for the new adaptation back in March, written by Rebecca Addelman, a contributing writer for New Girl on Fox, with Sex and the City’s Jenny Bix as executive producer with the show produced by Paramount Television.

Lachey (Dads, Truth Be Told) will play Sacha while Hannigan (How I Met Your Mother) will play Maggie and Hilty (Smash) will play Kim.

The new series will take place in today’s San Fransisco as the trio reunite after a former college roomie passes away.
