The Walking Dead time jump photos have been released for the post-Rick Grimes episodes.

This provides an interesting look at some of the characters who have aged quite a bit between Episode 5 and Episode 6 of Season 9.

At the end of the last episode, Rick was taken away by a helicopter. He had just blown up the bridge and helped dispatch of seemingly thousands of walkers. Then, the episode provided a huge twist.

In the final moments of the episode, a group is shown trying to battle its way through walkers. They are saved by a little girl, who ends up identifying herself as Judith Grimes.

Judith Grimes is now 10 years old in the show, meaning six years have passed since Rick was taken. Now, many of the returning characters look to have aged as well.

Judith and Carol are the two characters that look the most different, with Judith getting older and Carol sporting much longer hair.

Michonne has a new look as well, and Gabriel has a lot more white in his facial hair. Even Negan has a new look, which appears to be a lot healthier than when he was begging Maggie to kill him.

A clean slate for The Walking Dead time jump

There are a lot of mysteries that surround where the show is heading next and exactly how this Walking Dead time jump will work out. That’s a good thing. It gives the writers more freedom and makes the show far less predictable for the viewers.

The next few episodes of the show are going to reveal a lot of new characters. That should change the dynamic of the show quite a bit. It’s necessary. The characters and cast have to move on without Rick Grimes leading the way and this Walking Dead time jump is the perfect way to do it.

The Walking Dead airs Sunday nights at 9/8c on AMC.
