Days of our Lives fans are in for a double treat when Leo’s train wreck mom arrives and it’s none other than Judith Chapman!
What are the chances that these two stellar performers would once again be playing mother and son, albeit on a different daytime drama?
The Young and the Restless fans know Greg Rikaart as Kevin, aka the Chipmunk bandit, and Chapman as Gloria where they entertained viewers with their feisty but lovable mother and son relationship.
We can expect a bit of a different twist on DOOL as Rikaart’s Leo is a sleazy con who has blackmailed his way to the top. Sonny (Freddie Smith) is desperate to get rid of his excess baggage and has John (Drake Hogestyn) trying to find Leo’s mom as a way of getting some info that will help to neutralize the leech.
We soon will see Chapman when John discovers that a woman named Diana Cooper is Leo’s mom. But, could Diana and John also have a past connection? As in a love connection that turns out to be a baby who’s now a grown man named Leo? Yikes!
This would certainly complicate things for Jarlena who finally got back on track with a recent wedding that had been delayed by the bride being shot at the altar.
If John has yet another family hiding in his closet what will Doc (Deidre Hall) have to say about it? After all it wasn’t that long ago that he discovered another secret son, Paul Narita (Christopher Sean). Paul just left Salem, so would a second secret son have Doc levitating?
In another soapy twist, from 1989 to 1991 Chapman played the DOOL character Angelica Deveraux, a role she reprised in last year’s creep-tastic Halloween episode. Expect to see Leo’s mom pop up in Salem on January 29, 2019.
Days of our Lives airs weekdays during the day on NBC.
