Real Housewives of Atlanta star Marlo Hampton had a terrifying and life-changing experience on July 1 at her home.

Marlo was the victim of a home invasion while at her Sandy Springs residence with her nephews.

Hampton has been on The Real Housewives of Atlanta as “a friend of” the cast for years. However, she finally got her peach this season, becoming a full-time cast member. Viewers are following her journey as she goes from single and carefree, to raising two teenage boys while her sister is incarcerated.

During an interview with investigative reporter Mark Winne, Marlo described the harrowing events.

She said she was first alerted by a loud noise and her nephews’ screams, and she knew immediately that they were terrified.

She told the reporter: “When I heard the boom! When I heard my nephew scream… and I knew that scream was a scream of fear. My heart dropped!”

Marlo grabbed her nephews and rushed to her panic room. She then immediately dialed 911 as she watched on her security system as the four masked gunmen kicked down her door.

The robbers fled and didn’t take anything from her home. The Le’Archive owner is grateful that her family wasn’t hurt, realizing that the attempted burglary could have ended tragically.

The emotions were palpable in Marlo’s voice as she told the journalist, “I just thank God and we’re covered in the blood of Jesus and I’m here to share this story with you.”

Marlo issues a word of caution to other Housewives and celebrities

WBS-TV2 reported that Marlo’s home invasion was part of 15 home invasions carried out across Metro Atlanta, over the last year. The burglars were targeting high-profile homes. Four suspected gang members are now in custody.

There was an ongoing investigation for the past year. Sandy Springs police had a good hunch and luckily, they were right. They were waiting at the scene when the gang members attempted another home invasion, this time at the townhouse of one of Future’s exes. He shares a child with her.

The Le’Archive owner, who has been feuding with her some of her castmates this season, said she is grateful to be safe, but now her main concern is for her other castmates.  She wants them to realize that they could possibly be being watched, just like she was.

The peach holder pleaded, “I want all the ladies; I want everyone to be aware. If you are posting your items, if you do have luxury items, be careful!”

The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs on Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.
