Below Deck Med alum Katie Flood weighed in on Tumi Mhlongo as a chief stew amid her drama with Natalya Scudder.

Katie knows all too well what it takes to be a chief stew on the hit-yachting show.

She also knows first-hand how it feels to be butting heads with a subordinate while the cameras roll.

Lexi Wilson brought a whole lot of drama and tension for Katie during their Below Deck Med Season 6 stint.

Over the weekend, Katie did a video Q&A via Instagram Stories.

One question asked Katie her thoughts on Tumi, and Katie didn’t hold back.

The Instagram account @belowdeckaboveaverage captured the footage of Katie giving her opinion on Tumi.

Katie kicked it off by admitting she has only watched the first episode of Season 8, which Below Deck Med fans know Tumi wasn’t in due to visa issues.

“I don’t know how Tumi handles this at all. Obviously, I see things online. I know there’s some, um, conflict. I think that happens when she does finally join the boat,” she explained. “All I will say is I know Tumi had, this was the first time basically being a chief stew, and to do that with cameras in your face like, I take my hat off to her and Aesha [Scott] actually.”

Katie admitted she would never have moved up from second stew to chief stew while the cameras watch. By the time she was on Below Deck Med, Katie had a couple of years of being a chief stew under her belt.

Yes, she fully admits that doesn’t mean she knew it all because Season 6 of Below Deck Med was a learning curve for her, too.

“I think I, just regardless of what happens, you know, I’ve gotta think if I was in her shoes, it’s really hard to transition from a second to a chief. Find that authority, find that fine line, and you do go through the motions and do that with a camera in your face. Like it’s a lot,” Katie ended her message.

Although she was a one-and-done with Below Deck Med, Katie hasn’t given up reality TV. The IG post also had Katie teasing her upcoming return to Bravo TV.

What can Below Deck Med fans expect from Katie Flood on Winter House?

Katie and her Below Deck Med bestie Malia White are starring on Winter House Season 3. As Monsters and Critics previously reported in the premiere episode, they are all about finding some hot guys.

They both find hot guys, with Katie embarking on a fling with Vanderpump Rules star Tom Schwartz.

Summer House star Danielle Olivera and Jordan Emanuel from Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard recently teased the house romance, admitting there was an instant connection between Tom and Katie.

The show also reunites Katie with her pal Captain Sandy Yawn and allows her to meet Below Deck Down Under fan favorite Aesha Scott.

That’s just a tease of what Below Deck Med fans will see from Katie on Winter House, so be sure to tune in and see what else goes down.

Below Deck Med airs Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo. Winter House Season 3 premieres on Tuesday, October 24 at 9/8c on Bravo.
