Alaskan Bush People’s matriarch Ami Brown refused to give up when she was given the devastating news that she had cancer, made all the worse by being told by some doctors that she had just a 3 per cent chance of surviving.
Now in some stunning news the 54-year-old has been told her lung cancer, which had metastasized to her back and chest, has gone! Speaking to People Magazine, she said that even the doctors were stunned at the turnaround.
Ami had undergone radiation and chemotherapy in order to try and at least give her more time, with the family moving from the Alaskan bush down to California in order that she could be treated. Her husband Billy was equally shocked and is delighted at the change, with his wife’s prospects not looking good just a few months ago.
The treatment had made it very difficult for Ami to eat and she’d dropped down to just 77 lbs. But now the reality TV star is over 100 lbs and told People that she was enjoying eating snacks in the middle of the night.

She says the secret was to stay positive when staring down what is a very dark road, explaining that she kept faith in herself and in God.
As for the future, Ami had her last treatment back on December 7 and has to go in for checkups every three months, but she is optimistic about the future and looking forward to enjoying every moment.
