Juliana and Michael might just be the most controversial couple on Season 7 of 90 Day Fiance. After all, they met at a yacht party full of rich men and beautiful women. Already, the pair faces questions about her past as immigration officials want to ensure that she wasn’t a party to prostitution prior to her attempts to enter the U.S.

Eagle-eyed 90 Day Fiance viewers were quick to spot scars on Juliana’s left arm and wanted to know how they got there. Some made jokes about the painful-looking scars, likening them to rug burns and teasing about previous accusations of prostitution that were seen on the show.

However, the real reason behind Juliana’s scars is scary since she could have lost her life but the story isn’t as controversial as many thought it could be.

Juliana Custodio recently showed off her arm again in a photo shared exclusively by @fraudedbytlc, an Instagram blogger with a new podcast called The Fraudcast. Juliana shared the photo with permission to post it and an explanation behind her scars.

As seen in the photo, the scars start at Juliana’s left shoulder and run down her arm, elbow, and forearm.

“Many of you have asked about Juliana’s scar on her elbow. Here is your answer,” Frauded, whose real name is Katrina, wrote on Instagram. “She was involved in a motorcycle accident. Her scars are beautiful. You guys, ALL scars are beautiful. Embrace them and love them despite the trauma that caused them. I was given permission to post these. Not to exploit them but to empower us all to embrace our scars and not see them as imperfections.”

In the photo above, Juliana’s injuries look new. They’re not as noticeable on 90 Day Fiance, but viewers were quick to notice scarring on her forearm and elbow area, which is what prompted all the questions.

90 Day Fiance airs Sundays at 8/7c on TLC.
