Prepare for Mega Race 2! The Street Outlaws Vs. Fast N’ Loud Mega Race is happening again in 2018, as Gas Monkey Garage go up against the 405 in a massive showdown on Discovery for the largest prize in network history.
The race-off will see NASCAR driver Kyle Busch join the line-up as race-master, but while Aaron Kaufman took on Farmtruck and AZN from the OKC crew last year, this year will see the duo take on Misfit Garage’s Tom Smith and Thomas Weeks, alongside their Fired Up Garage team.
That follows the departure of Kaufman from Gas Monkey last year, but fans haven’t seen the last of him yet — as the night of the Street Outlaws vs. Fast N’ Loud Mega Race the so-called “bearded wonder” is returning to Discovery with his own show, Shifting Gears with Aaron Kaufman.
The Mega Race comes as part of Discovery’s Motor Mega Week, starting on Monday February 26. The week starts with a Kick-off to Mega Race show at 8pm ET/PT that day, followed the first of a four-part Street Outlaws vs. Fast N’ Loud Mega Race: Build to Mega Race.
The four “Build to Mega Race” episodes will follow the various teams as they prepare their cars for the big showdown, and will air nightly until the actual race on Monday, March 5. Race night will begin with a Countdown To Mega Race special at 8pm ET/PT, followed by the Mega Race at 9pm ET/PT and then the premiere of Shifting Gears with Aaron Kaufman at 10pm ET/PT.
Discovery’s Motor Mega Week will also see the debut of new two more all-new series, Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings, at 10pm ET/PT on Tuesday February 27, and Twin Turbos — following father-son duo Doug and Brad DeBerti — at 10pm ET/PT on Wednesday February 28.
Motor Mega Week starts Monday February 26 on Discovery. The Mega Race airs at 9pm ET/PT on Monday, March 5.
