Mama June: From Not to Hot Season 2 has divided fans before it’s even aired — after footage from the show left some viewers baffled by the “cringey acting”.
But while some branded the series “scripted” and “fake”, others said they loved the family no matter what. The comments were made on a nine-minute sneak peek at the Season 2 premiere posted on YouTube by WE tv.
One response, which was liked more than 400 times, said: “WTF is this? I love honey boo boo but this is too acted.”
Another said: “This is a constant cringe. They are so bad at acting lol but this is funny.”
Others responded in the same vein.
Others also took to the comments section to comment on Mama June’s appearance, which was the focus of Season 1 where the cameras followed her as she lost 300lb, hence the show’s “From Not to Hot” name.
One said: “she needs to do muscle training and tone up…. She looks weird af.” Another added: “I like june better fat.”
One fan played on the title of the show, saying: “They’re a hot ass mess!” But others said they still thought the family were hilarious.
The love-hate relationship with the alleged scripting of the show was something fans experienced last season too:
