Juelz Santana will have to report to prison very soon unless his request to delay is approved. In an effort to do just that, the Love & Hip Hop star is using the VH1 series and Tyler Perry to ask for just one more month of freedom.
If Juelz isn’t granted this extension, he’ll be forced to report to prison by January 30, which is just days away. Instead, the Dipset rapper is looking for a one-month extension so he can attend the Love & Hip Hop reunion and tie up a few more loose ends.
In his bid to extend his freedom, Juelz Santana brought up the Season 9 Love & Hip Hop reunion, which will be filmed at Tyler Perry Studios in Georgia next month.
In court documents obtained by The Blast, Juelz (or rather his lawyer) wrote, “This event is connected to his participation in the television show ‘Love & Hip Hop.’ It is crucial to his professional career that he be able to participate, and it will provide closure for him as he embarks on his term of imprisonment.”
The paperwork also claims that Juelz was not given enough notice about when he was supposed to report to prison. He even said that he has not received paperwork from the prison yet.
Juelz Santana’s legal issues have been highlighted on this season of Love & Hip Hop as he works to get his affairs in order before heading off to serve a
Earlier in the season, we saw Juelz and Kimbella as they dealt with his addiction issues and what led him to get caught at the airport with a loaded gun before fleeing police.
Initially, Juelz considered not taking a plea deal as he believed he was innocent. It didn’t take long to convince the Love & Hip Hop star to cut his losses and just do the time since he’d have a very hard time convincing a jury of his innocence and it could result in even more time behind bars.
It’s not clear yet if Juelz Santana was able to convince the judge to delay his trip to prison or if we’ll be seeing him at the Love & Hip Hop reunion, which films next month.
Love & Hip Hop airs on Mondays at 8/7c on VH1.
