Last Man Standing has garnered a lot of praise since moving to FOX after being canceled by ABC.

With all of the changes that hit fans with the first episode, there is some worry about where the fate of Ed stands on the show.

Mike Baxter and Ed Alzate have become somewhat of a dynamic duo on Last Man Standing over the last six seasons on the show. When Season 7 was announced, fans breathed a sigh of relief knowing that Hector Elizondo had decided to return with the cast.

On the last episode, Ed decided to retire after fear of a corporate takeover dominated his thoughts. Outdoor Man has been a special place for both Mike and Ed, and essentially they were butting heads about what would happen next.

This begs the question about whether Ed will be leaving the show or if he will remain around but without the title of boss hanging over his head. At this point, there is no indication that Hector Elizondo is leaving Last Man Standing at all.

Even though the boss/employee relationship looks like it will be dissolved, the friendship between Mike and Ed will unlikely be swayed.

Despite the change of roles for Ed, it doesn’t look like he will be leaving the show. Fans like the dynamic between the two, especially the laughs it brings.

Last Man Standing airs Friday nights at 8/7c on FOX.
