Disney Plus launched in the early hours of Tuesday, November 12, in the U.S., Canada, and the Netherlands. Although the service was officially set to launch at 6 A.M. ET, users reported that multiple apps went live before the official launch time.

Viewers have been searching through the list of the available content on Disney Plus and found many exciting offers, such as The Mandalorian, the streaming platform’s new flagship live-action series set in the Star Wars universe after the Return of the Jedi (1985) and before The Force Awakens (2015).

The original Star Wars trilogy and the prequel trilogy are also available, along with The Force Awakens from the sequel trilogy and Rogue One (2016). Viewers were also delighted to find the first 30 seasons of The Simpsons.

Disney Plus is offering more than 500 movies and more than  7,500 TV episodes. The streaming platform will serve as the home of the classic Disney movies, Pixar, Marvel movies, Star Wars franchise, and National Geographic. It will also offer content from Fox, such as The Simpsons.

According to CEO Bob Iger, the streaming platform will offer more than 620 movies and more than 10,000 TV episodes by the fifth year of operation, besides original features and shorts.

The platform also plans to launch 45 new original programs in the first year.

The Disney Plus platform allows several user profiles for each account and you can stream four different movies or shows on four different devices at once. Users are also allowed unlimited downloads on up to 10 devices

According to CEO Iger, Disney Plus will focus exclusively on family-oriented entertainment. Hulu is available for viewers who want more mature content.

How to sign up to Disney+

You can sign up for Disney Plus on their official website here. You will need to provide your email address and credit card information

The service costs $6.99 per month for U.S. viewers or $69.99 per year. It costs $8.99 per month for Canadian users and $89.99 per year. You will get a 7-day free trial. You will be charged only after the free trial ends.

Disney Plus also offers a bundle option: You can sign up to a bundle that includes Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+. It costs only $12.99 a month, so you save about $5, compared with subscribing separately to the services.

Disney+ will be available in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain on March 31, 2020.

Disney Plus will launch in Australia and New Zealand on November 19.
