The Mandalorian ushered in a new era for the Star Wars universe this week, bringing a galaxy, far, far away to the small screen.
The first episode was a subtle bang with Dave Filoni of The Clone Wars in the director’s seat. And as the mystery of Mando’s identity and background were played like a galactic spaghetti western, his endpoint in the episode would cause quite a stir online.
Because of this, it will undoubtedly leave fans wondering when to expect all the episodes going forward. Well, look no further. Here is how many episodes of The Mandalorian to expect as well as the release schedule.
What is The Mandalorian release schedule and how many episodes are there?
Disney+ has already confirmed that The Mandalorian Season 1 will have 8 episodes. And while that may seem like a small amount, keep in mind that shows such as Stranger Things benefit from having shorter seasons to focus on quality instead of quantity.
The next episode will premiere on Friday, November 15 and release a new episode every Friday leading up to the season finale. And the season finale will land on Disney+ on December 27.
Here is the entire schedule for The Mandalorian starting with episode 2:
- Episode 2 on November 15
- Episode 3 on November 22
- Episode 4 on November 29
- Episode 5 on December 6
- Episode 6 on December 13
- Episode 7 on December 18
- Episode 8 on December 27
As stated, having a smaller season can hugely benefit the overall nature of the show. Part of what made Netflix’s Marvel run problematic was how overly long some seasons felt. At times, having to satisfy a 13 episode arc can make some episodes have the sensation of being filler instead of necessary. And a tight 8 episode run can help a show avoid that issue.
Regardless, The Mandalorian had a satisfying debut and should be enough to keep Star Wars fans tuned in every Friday until the finale.
The next episode of The Mandalorian will stream Friday, November 15 on Disney+.
