The Gold Rush Season 9 release date has finally been announced by Discovery — as the hit series returns without Todd Hoffman for the first time in its history.
The new season will premiere on Friday, October 12, at pm ET/PT following a pre-show “The Dirt” special at 8pm ET/PT.
Monsters and Critics told earlier this year how Hoffman was leaving the show to pursue other ventures including singing.
Instead, fans will see Rick Ness — who has previously worked under Parker Schnabel — stepping into bigger boots to become a mine boss with his own claim for the first time.
It comes after Rick spent time during the off-season nursing his poorly mother before she passed away.
He starts the season well behind the other miners, but heads into it with high hopes after recruiting friends from Wisconsin to come and help him try to find gold.
Meanwhile, Parker begins Gold Rush Season 9 embroiled in a land war with Tony Beets which results in him having to move to another claim.
This doesn’t sit well with Tony, who this season plans to do everything he can to match — and beat — Parker’s $7.2million goal for the season.
All episodes of Gold Rush this season will be preceded by The Dirt, which delves into what goes on behind the scenes and allows fans an opportunity to interact with the miners.
The Gold Rush Season 9 release date is set for Friday, October 12, at 9 PM ET/PT with Pre-Show ‘The Dirt’ returning at 8 PM ET/PT on Discovery
