FBI: Most Wanted is adding a fresh face to the ranks.

Deadline has announced that Alexa Davalos, last seen in the Amazon Prime series The Man in the High Castle, will join the spin-off in its third season.

Davalos’ entry fills the gap in the team left by the surprising departure of original star Nathaniel Arcand in June.

Who is Alexa Davalos?

Born in France in 1982 but raised in New York, Davalos rose to attention as the electrical-powered thief Gwen on the beloved WB supernatural series, Angel.

She then starred in Fox’s short-lived drama Reunion opposite Blue Bloods star Will Estes. Davalos added roles in shows like Mob City.

Her movie credits include The Chronicles of Riddick with Vin Diesel, the Stephen King horror film The Mist, and Andromeda in 2010’s remake of Clash of the Titans.

Davalos’ most notable role was the Amazon Prime series The Man in the High Castle. Based on the classic sci-fi novel, she played a woman in an alternate world where the Axis won World War II. America was divided between Imperial Japan and Nazi Germany.

Davalos’ Julianna finds movies from “our” world of an Allied victory and goes on a wild adventure to bring down the evil regime.

Details are so far scarce on who Davalos plays in the spin-off. The press release merely states she’s a new member who joins Jess (Julian McMahon) and his team hunting fugitives.

FBI: Most Wanted’s second season ended with Jess involved in a shoot-out with the abusive husband of his new flame Sarah (Jennifer Landon).

The series is also going to handle the departure of original team member Clinton Skye. The character had not been seen since halfway through the second season due to Nathaniel Arcand busy with other projects.

Arcand confirmed in June he had left the series. It’s logical Skye is now on a different team, and Davalos was brought in as his replacement.

FBI: Most Wanted will anchor a new Tuesday lineup that includes the original FBI and the new spin-off International.

While her character is unknown, Davalos promises to bring some fresh new blood to the already hot spin-off.

FBI: Most Wanted Season 3 premieres Tuesday, September 21st at 9/8c on CBS.
