Exclusive video: New girl Monique Samuels talks about joining the catty women of The Real Housewives of Potomac

New housewife Monique Samuels isn’t intimidated by The Real Housewives of Potomac

New girl Monique Samuels is not intimidated by her castmates on The Real Housewives of Potomac.

Her entry into the group was a little rough last week, with bully Gizelle going after her during high tea at The Willard.

“Maybe she’s used to women who don’t catch the shade that quickly,” Monique says.

“Who asks ‘do you have a home?’ Okay, that was a little weird. I don’t know why she came after me like that,” Monique says.

She says she has her own group of friends, and they don’t usually tackle their problems over high tea in big hats.

Bahaha! Who does?

“For me it was a positive experience just because I like being around dynamic women,” Monique says.

“I have a strong personality myself so I didn’t feel any kind of intimidation. I didn’t feel nervous,” she says.

“The only thing they could say was ‘I can’t believe she rapped at The Willard’,” Monique says her guests stayed at that hotel for her wedding to former Redskins player Chris Samuels, so she’s very comfortable there.

“They already have their own history, they’ve had their own issues,” Monique says.

And she’s still figuring it all out.

She says Karen has been really welcoming, and that she’s hilarious!

Than again, Karen claims she can spot the real thing from a fake. And she likes REAL.

“I can’t wait for viewers to see the Charrisse that I love,” Monique says.

She thinks Ashley is “so much fun. What you see is what you get!”

Robyn was throwing some shade at the new girl last week, and she basically called Monique a braggart.

“I don’t take for granted anything I have, and I don’t put material things on a pedestal,” Monique says. “Me and Chris are the go big or go home kind of people… and we love to entertain.”

Tonight Monique’s Mother in Law makes her first appearance on the show.

Anybody who has ever had a Mother in Law throwing shade will surely be sympathetic.

But Monique’s not the only one getting tortured on the show this week.

Gizelle confronts Robyn for talking about her with “Karen Huger, of all people.”

“I’m tired of all the back and forth with Charrisse,” Gizelle says she realizes it wasn’t a good idea to put all her friend’s business on the street.

The Real Housewives of Potomac airs Sundays at 9/8c on Bravo.
